last song

So the song off results with Dainon were close...like I won by just one vote. So I guess we're both awesome!

But lets talk about a big issue I've been having lately. My fingers crack and turn disgusting in the winter. Melissa turned me onto this stuff and it's been very helpful.

The problem is I have to pee approximately one thousand times a day, so I wash my hands at least one thousand times a day. Thusly, the cracked fingers get gross and also hurt (and bleed) which leads to BandAids.

But people, how do you wash your hands with BandAids on your fingers without rendering the BandAids useless (and smelly)?

Perhaps you should just resort to nixing the hand washing in favor of antibacterial wipes or gel because I have no solution to that Band-Aid dilemma.

You don't. I have 3 band-aids at the moment and have decided to keep bandaids in my desk.

i highly, highly recommend liquid band aid or new skin. i have the same problem with cracked hands in winter and i use new skin...it's a miracle worker. and, although it smells bad going on, it doesn't get smelly as a result of washing your hands.

(you could also use super glue, but for some reason, i just can't do it...i feel like it isn't medically safe if i don't buy it in the pharmacy section of wal-mart. go figure.)

why don't you just freakin' learn to control your bladder better?! :D JUST teasing. My solution is the Jo Malone Vitamin E hand treatment. It makes your skin go "ahhhhhh!".

I love that you took your camera into the bathroom to capture the image of your dilema. ha!
I don't get as bad as you, but I recently bought Burt's Bee's lemon cuticle butter. Yum! I want to eat it sometimes.

If the cracks aren't bleeding, you should try Nexcare skin crack care. It's like a mix between nail polish and superglue and it is awesome! (oh, and it should eliminate the need for bandaids)

Or you could always move to a more humid climate. It's a little bit drastic, but it worked for me. :)

I know you have no shortage of lotions to try but here's another to add to this list: Eucerin w/ alpha hydroxy acid. Plus I keep a bottle of lotion in my car and use it all the time.
But if wet bandaids are your issue, go for the non-fabric kind. They repel water. Or finger condoms like they have in restaurants for cooks with bandaids on their fingers.

I solved that problem by moving to a warmer location. Easy as pie (not really).

oh wow everyone, thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to try a couple of those liquid glue options (and of course the condoms too Kristina!)

I really do love the Restoration Hardware No-Crack Super Hand Cream but I still feel like I need an option for when a finger or two inevitably still cracks.

Sorry, but you have to replace the band aids every time you wash in my opinion.
