you make it easy

I have Wasatch Back pictures to upload in excess, but just know now that none of the rest will be as adorable as these two:

Why, you ask? Because
a) babies holding adult sized things is always adorable,
b) Morgan's tiny Nike LeBrons Katie gifted him are adorable, and
c) Morgan is adorable.

tiny dancer

For our Wasatch Back Relay team this year, we weren't sure if anything could compare to Ted Danson last year. But if anyone can do it, Tony Danza can do it.

Especially since it means I get to post from Almost Famous for joke reference purposes.

4 Cliffords, 2 Sanchezes, 1 Way Rad Rick, 1 Corey Coop, 4 Wasatch Back newbies and a fancy finish line hotel room...this is going to be awesome.

opposite of adults

I am in LA for E3 and will be gone until I come home in time to run Wasatch Back Relay...who timed this week life? Dumb, dumb. But I should be getting wedding photos this week, so I will get to picture overload posts as soon as I get my grubby hands on them.

In the meantime though, I think I've been finding stuff I'd like to compile on a mix CD soon. It's been a long time, but this summer needs a soundtrack, I can just feel it. And I'd like to work both these in cus they sound like swimming (also, sweet videos).

seize the day

I was a film major for many a year in my very long college career and the first thing anyone ever asked after I told them was, 'so what is your favorite movie?' I've never been one for those favorite questions because how can you absolutely and positively say that one color or food or candy or movie is your favorite? It's so much pressure.

However, my go to movie answer was always Newsies. Because I just I don't think any 10 year old girl who saw that movie can ever erase the heart tugging combination that is hot orphan boys and musicality (and then Christian Bale followed up with Swing Kids and Little Women sealing his fate as my early teen celebrity crush).

So yesterday when a friend posted this mash up on Facebook, I almost died with happiness.

And then of course that meant I had to spend 30 minutes looking up actual clips.

I'm so glad I live in a future where YouTube exists (and where Christian Bale is still so awesome).

higher & higher

I just ran across this photo on my computer.

And I gotta say, I love that such a color combination is my husband (even if it means that together sometimes we must look like a crayon box exploded).

what to say

I watched this today.

Old funny Irish guys in pubs! Her fancy shoes in the mud! A mysterious back story about the brooding hero! A sketchy time line!

Geez America, why can't I just watch one romcom that doesn't require a series of both unbelievable and ridiculous events that culminate in equally unbelievable and ridiculous endings? I get that people fall in love in 2 days, but it's still very romantic when it takes more time and it's still very sweet even without declarations in front of crowds. And this is even coming from a girl who cries at like Hallmark commercials and old men on the street, so it doesn't take much to get me.

So Leap Year, you fail. But the romcom genre, you win because I will never give up on you as long as Redbox and dollar rentals exist, even though you disappoint me again and again.

[mini rant] Also, why are we okay with movies that get you rooting for the leading lady to cheat on her boring fiance/boyfriend/husband with the handsome leading man often in a drunken hookup, but we get our britches in a bunch about one too many swears in other movies? Let's use our brains more often people...[mini rant]
